In the summer of 2003, our graduation show came to a successful close, which allowed me to finally relax and reflect. I thought about the previous year, about how I had to read, write, paint, and stay in my studio for over eight hours each day just to prepare for graduation. After the graduation show, our class came together to take down our artworks, gave one another hugs, and bid our goodbye. Three years of studying together went by like that, as if there had been nothing left. I chose this phrase intentionally to do some thinking in the opposite way. |
