Da Zhi Hui
(Profound Wisdom)
Da Zhi Hui When my daughter was in grade five, in math class she was studying "the highest common factor" and "the lowest common multiple." She did not understand this concept in class, still could not get it when her dad taught her, and even drove her tutor up the wall. We asked her where the problem was, and she started crying and said innocently, "I just don’t get it...." We had a lot of empathy for her, but we also knew that in the Taiwanese educational system, if you do not catch up, you are waiting to be eliminated. One holiday, I took her to the jade market and she picked a purple stone. I cut these words for her, which actually also matched the pronunciation of her name. I told her that "Big roosters crow last." During the winter vacation of that year, I found her a tutor to patiently explain everything to her, to give her more confidence and to instill the belief that as long as you work hard, there is nothing that cannot be achieved. Now she is in second year university, and in every single one of her books, there is this seal to remind her of this.
